Enjoy a fun time of creativity, learning, and entertainment in the heart of Downtown Hollywood.

ALSO Youth Prom

Annual high school prom for LGBTQ+ youth, friends, and allies (ages ) in Sarasota hosted by ALSO Youth and The Out-of-Door Academy.

This is an event for youth to feel accepted, affirmed, and celebrated! Join in the fun with plenty of nourishment, a DJ and dancing.

Judge rules in favor of Naples Pride drag recital. When is Pride Month? Florida events

  • A federal determine ruled that Naples Identity festival can hold an outdoor drag performance, overruling metropolis officials who had restricted it to indoors and adults only.
  • The judge's conclusion affirms the drag production as protected speech under the First Amendment.
  • Pride Month is celebrated in June to commemorate the Stonewall Riots, a turning show in the gay rights movement.
  • Numerous Pride events are scheduled throughout Florida in June, including Naples Pridefest, St. Pete Pride, and Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride.

An outdoor drag performance will be part of Naples Pridefest, thanks to a federal judge's May 12 order.

Naples Pride filed suit after city officials denied a permit for an outdoor drag performance, instead requiring it be held indoors and restricted to adults only.

District Judge John Steele granted a preliminary injunction, saying the queenly performance is protected speech under the First Amendment.
