LGBTQIA+ Booklists and Resources
A collection of booklists and resources that highlight the LGBTQIA+ community and experience. This list provides resources and educational materials for kids of all ages and their caregivers to promote respect and understanding, including guidance on pronouns and identities.
To recognize and observe the activism, culture, and history of the LGBTQIA+ community, the CBC has curated an up-to-date list of new and backlist books. This list was created in June of and we will add books throughout the year.

Educational Resources
- GLSEN’s Rainbow Library offers to transmit out free LGBTQIA+ books and ebooks to schools in most states. Other states are welcome to submit an application and join. They also provide Elementary Lesson Plans (with Additional Curricular Resources below) for teachers.

LGBT History Month: Books for Kids
October is LGBTQ+ History month! In , Rodney Wilson, a Missouri high school lecturer, believed a month should be consecrated to the celebration and teaching of gay and womxn loving womxn history. He gathered other teachers and community leaders. They selected October because public schools are in session and existing traditions, such as Coming Out Day (October 11), occur that month.

Queer History A to Z is an alphabet book for older readers that is packed full of information. Readers will be able to relate to youth activists and children’s issues as good as learn about all those convert makers who came before.
Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera are two of the most well-known people in the fight for Homosexual rights in the ’s and ’s. In Sylvia and Marsha Start A Revolution!, young children can learn about their lives and their activism.
