Prior to that, singers like Mzbel had broken norms by openly expressing their sexuality, but none so unpolished. “Dancefloor,” an allegory of a girl seized with desire, shows the advances we have made in liberating women from sexual repression. Not long ago, there was a explain delineation between good girls and bad girls in Ghana and many other countries. Good girls went to school, preferably all girls’ secondary schools. During holidays, they mostly stayed at home. They were ladies, or in the Fante word, “Akatasia”, a portmanteau of the words cover and hide. Thus good girls weren’t exhibited except during puberty rites in villages. Women of good morals dared not demonstrate desire, much less luxuriate in it. What are the changes?
Most people who couldn’t donate under our previous rules about sexual activity can now donate plasma with no wait period. Previously, the wait was between 3 and 12 months.
Of course, you still need to encounter our other eligibility criteria.
And anyone who is HIV positive or has sex with a HIV positive person still isn’t qualified to donate.
Blood safety is, and always will be, our highest priority. While the previous blood donation rules were necessary to ensure a safe blood supply in the past, we recognize they’ve contributed to the stigma faced by many people in the LGBTQIA+ community. We wish that, as we work through the process of changing these rules, this will be a turning point for both Lifeblood and the LGBTQIA+ community.

An actor and her stunt double falling in love while operational on a movie in Fiji sounds like the premise of an escapist romantic comedy more than real life, but it is, in fact, Kiersey Clemons and Ebony De La Haye’s true beginning story.
The two met in on the set of “Sweetheart,” a survivalist thriller in which Clemons — whose breakout turn as a teen lesbian in ’s “Dope” led to roles in “Hearts Overcome Loud,” “Scoob!,” “Antebellum” and more — plays a lone survivor fending off a mysterious monster on a deserted island. As her stunt double, De La Haye had to perform some particularly tricky underwater stunts that create Clemons shudder to assume of to this daytime.
