Just landed in Hannover, I was eager to dive into an authentic German dining experience for dinner. With a rumbling stomach and high expectations, I made my way to Brauhaus Ernst August, hoping to find a meal that truly captured the essence of German cuisine. Upon entering, the welcoming atmosphere immediately put me at ease. I took a seat and was soon greeted by a friendly waiter. When I asked for a recommendation, she didn’t hesitate. “You must try the pork shank,” she said with a warm smile. Despite it not being representative summer fare, I decided to trust her assessment. As I waited, I sipped on an iced, amazing beer, the flawless antidote to the summer heat. The anticipation built with each refreshing sip, and soon enough, my meal arrived. The sight and aroma of the pork shank were irresistible. Despite the season, I devoured it eagerly, savoring every tender, flavorful munch. It was a feast fit for a king, paired perfectly with the crisp, cold beer.
